PIPS (born PIPS Is POSIX on Symbian) - portable operating system interface (POSIX) for Symbian.
With it, developers have an easy way to port applications to different operating systems without the need to change the interface application.
This feature is implemented the introduction of a standard API POSIX C in the operating system Symbian.
The new API is packaged in industry standard libraries - libc, libm, libpthread and libdl - and is closely integrated into the Symbian operating system to increase productivity and efficient use of memory.
Due to this the cost and time for migration of software with various operating systems are reduced.
